... SOLD!

Yes we sold our home!! Only on the market for a week, and the first person that walked in bought it! We couldnt be more blessed! Scott spent Memorial Day Weekend in SLC looking for a home and the stress of selling our home in time was really weighing us down. But Memorial Day Monday we got the email, the offer was good and we accepted. And than the next day Scott put an offer on our new home! We are so excited and relieved that we have somewhere to go! But now all the stress begins! I have accepted a job at a Coronary ICU in Murray and they want me to start July 1st. So Hunter and I will be making the drive up there in just a couple weeks! Scott will be back and forth a couple more times as we close on our Texas home and close on our Utah home all in the same week! We were planning on buying a home in South Salt Lake somewhere, but with the crazy market this summer there is nothing avaliable. Scott looked everywhere and couldnt find anything he liked. So the house we are buying is right in good ol' Lehi. I never thought I'd be moving back to my home town but I couldnt be more excited. I even think Scott is a little excited too :) Hunter will have his cousins and grandparents so close! And Scott's family is only a few hours away as well! It is kind of sureal to think we are going to be so close to family, we always talk about how nice it'd be to be able to do little things together and now we finally can :) Well so busy couple months a head of us.... Better get packing!

Surprise!!

Three years in the LoneStar State and it's officail, we are moving back to Utah! Scott got a transfer approved to work in the Salt Lake office!! We are so excited, live close to family, close to the mountains, no more humitity and the list goes on and on! The sign went up on Wednesday, its so crazy to think we will soon be leaving Texas forever! But there are things I am going to miss... I will post later! And I am going to have to get a job that probably won't be as cool as my job now, but it is Utah! It will all be worth it! So lets hope this house sells and we we can be out of here before the Summer really heats up!!

The Little Man's Sleep Place

Yes the nursery is finally done.. I think... for now at least!! okay so its still missing a few things, like curtains and a crib skirt, no big deal. But I finally like the way it looks so for now it is done :) Scott made the dresser with his bare hands!! Yes he is that talented. It was just what I wanted; a dresser with drawers and shelves for books. My mom made the bumper, I just love love the fabric!! Think I'll make curtains out of it... one day! And we got the cute picture while we were in Hawaii and it just tied the whole thing togther. Now the little stinker just needs to sleep in it!

Labor Day at the Christensen's

We have been talking about painting the house since we moved in. I did like the cedar trim but I really like the way the dark turned out. Scott painted all this on his own while I was at work on Labor Day. Isn't he so amazing??!! I had no idea what he was up to until I came home to this!

Happy 4th of July

Scott and I had a good little fourth of July this year. I had to work all day but afterwards Scott came downtown and we walked to the park and watched the fireworks with a bucket of chicken ;) We go home in like 10 days for Scott's little brothers wedding and couldn't be more excited!! We miss everyone so much... especcially durring the holidays.
So I created a little holiday decor and have been getting requests for pictures... so here it is... My beadboard flag (yes leftover beadboard from the bathroom!! ;))Hope ya'll like it! Next I need to make a Texas flag huh!!

Bathroom Makeover!!

It happened again, I had an idea and Scott made it happen. This time it was our bathroom. Our spare bathroom has always been cute, but I'll admit, a bit boring. So we decided to add a little something. We added beadboard to the back wall and then framed the mirror with some white molding. I just love how it turned out!! Next we will have to frame the mirror in the master bath!!

One Saturday Morning Scott Built a Coffee Table

That's right. I am just about the luckiest girl alive. I am constantly bringing Scott these crazy ideas and every once in a while, he agrees to go along. But look at what he can do... He can freaking build a coffee table. It turned out so darn cute too. We needed a coffee table for the game room but couldn't find one we liked. I am kinda into the whole "farm house" look lately and just loved the look of the solid wood panels on this table. Now I just need to find a farm house dining room table!!

The Patio

Oh yeah... So we decided to lay a stone patio, talk about biggest nightmare ever!! But first we had to get rid of our small cement patio... with a sledge hammer!! Biggest mess I have ever seen. Than after a few weeks of laying sand and stone we had this beautiful patio!! Scott is such a trooper, we had no idea it was going to be so much work, but he did it and he did a good job (as usual!!) Now we need some fun patio furniture and a grill and it'll be complete!

One Year in the Lonestar State

I cannot believe we have officially been in Houston for an entire year!!! This last year has just flown by. We have been pretty busy with our new jobs and our new home and our new puppy (who is huge BTW!). Scott has been working for the Department of Defense for one year now, and he is actually enjoying work most of the time :) And I have been working at Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center in the Cardiovascular Intermediate Unit. While we both love of jobs, we definitley enjoy our days off together more!! So to make things easy I have compiled a small list of our favorite things to do in Houston, not in any specific order, here it goes...

With our families so far away, Scott and I have worked hard to make Houston our home. We really do have a good life here and are so blessed. I was lucky enough to fly home for a few days this month to go to my Dad's retirement party. I miss them all so much and could not ask for a better family. Scott put up with an empty house and probably an empty stomach for a few days so I could go and I am so grateful!! Thanks guys!!!

Onto the the pictures. We have had so so much fun with our new home. Scott has been nonstop building or painting something!! We put a garden in the backyard and ended up needing to build a fence to keep Jax out!! Scott is so awesome!! He can build just about anything and trust me I will put him to the test this summer!!! Also he build a brick wall in the living room, yes you read that right.. a brick wall. I was sceptical at first but WOW, he did an amazing job. I have learned to just let him do what he wants and not to question him. We have plenty of more projects in the works so I will post more pics soon!!

Dining Room Makeover

I have pretty much hated our picture molding since the day they put it up. So Scott and I have thought and thought about how we can replace it. Then I saw this so simple yet amazing idea!!! I never would have thought to paint it all white??!! But I LOVE it!! It actually turned out pretty darn cute!! The room is still empty, no table and bare walls, but it looks so much better!! Let me know what ya think!!

Closing time.....

Yes finally, the house is complete and we close in two days!! We are so thrilled to be moved in and out of our lovely apartment! I am so happy with how everything has turned out, the house is beautiful! I just LOVE it!! Final pictures of the final project!!

HOME SWEET HOME

It has been a busy week for the house... it is SO SO close to being finished. Closing is supposed to be in only 2 weeks!!! We'll see if it happens... it better. We're collecting boxes and have started packing (my least favorite part). So lets see, they put in all the faucets, showers, and mirrors, painted the trim, layed cement for the driveway ans sidewalk, and oh yeah best part WOOD FLOORS!!! They turned out perfect; we both love them so much we are seriously thinking about doing the rest of the house!! I hope to post pictures soon of carpet... appliances.. and a finished yard!! That is all thats left!! YAY!

Three More Weeks Baby!!

Yes that is right, closing is planned for three weeks from tomorrow!! We are so excited, we finally started gatehring some boxes and will start packing up soon! In the last few days they started painting and started tile. We pretty much have to drive by everyday now or I think we'll miss something!! They also put up gutters, and cleared out the yard for the driveway.... ALSO they had a pallet of brick and stone so they can finish up the exterior and start the fireplace!!! YAY!!!
